City council leader makes 'Greater Gloucester' plea amid unitary debate
Councillor Jeremy Hilton said there were strong cultural, geographic, economic and historic reasons to keep Gloucester and the surrounding communities together
Councillor Caroline Courtney and Richard Price are part of the Liberal Democrat team for Tuffley.
Caroline, who lives on Stroud Road near to St Barnabas Church, was first elected to the city council in May 2021. She is the cabinet member for culture and leisure.
Richard Price was born in Gloucester and has lived in the city all his life. He grew up in Barton & Tredworth and Saintbridge and attended St Peter’s High School.
He is the Liberal Democrat candidate for Tuffley & Moreland at the county council elections in May.

Councillor Jeremy Hilton, leader of Gloucester City Council, said key housing and regeneration schemes were progressing in the city and needed time to be completed.

In Gloucester, Councillor Rebecca Trimnell increased our vote share by 2.7% compared with 2019 – polling 10.4%.
The Liberal Democrats were appointed to the leadership of the local authority at Monday afternoon’s annual general meeting of the council.
They won 17 of the 39 seats the council, with the Conservatives on 11 seats, Labour on seven and the Independents on four.
