Phonebox looks set to be removed

There are plans by BT and the city council to remove the phone box on Podsmead Road.

It was due to be taken away by the end of March if no objections were received but this was delayed by the lockdown.

Councillor Sebastian Field said: "This phone box was seldom used according to the records.

"In the end I felt it was ok to let it be removed. BT would only support retaining it to house a defibrillator but there is already one of those nearby at the Podsmead Hub on Scott Avenue."
