Church Lane repairs delayed

David Brown allocated part of the Highways Local funding available to him as the county councillor to bring forward much needed improvements to Church Lane.

However, due to the scheduling of some significant work by one of the utility companies the Church Lane road surface is still in very poor condition.

In addition, heavy downpours have highlighted the need for improvements to drainage at the dip on Church Lane.

David said: "At a time of heavy rainwater ponding extends the full width of the road near the weir at the dip in the road.

"Putting this right could be as straightforward as clearing the drainage holes on the kerbing, but if that doesn't work then I am insisting improvements to the drainage are made along with the resurfacing work."
